FaceShop Rice Ceramide Emulsion Review

Today we are going to have a review of one of the much-anticipated skincare product that is The FaceShop Rice Ceramide Emulsion. The Face Shop is a popular South Korean company. Since ancient times rice has always been one of the key ingredients of Korean beauty products. Rice has various minerals and antioxidants in it which can help tighten your skin, pores, and acne.

Faceshop Rice Ceramide Emulsion: Product Description:

It is a mild emulsion containing rice and vegetable Ceramide. Rice helps brighten your skin and ceramide protects you from skin barriers. The result is soft, smooth, and nongreasy skin.

Packaging:

FaceShop Rice Ceramide Emulsion

The packaging of this product is not very impressive. It comes in a plastic bottle with no pump attached to it, which makes it really inconvenient. Since you are supposed to shake the bottle before applying it, therefore, there is every chance of you spilling the emulsion.

Texture:

The texture of the emulsion is not too thick or not too runny, but it is surely on the thinner side. The color of the emulsion is white.

Fragrance:

It has a very mild spa-like fragrance, I liked it, but people that are sensitive to even a little fragrance, shouldn’t go with the product.

How to use:

Apply it on your entire face and then gently massage and pat till it is completely absorbed.

Faceshop Rice Ceramide Emulsion: My Experience:

The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisturizing Emulsion provides sufficient moisturization even on dry skin like mine. It takes some time to get fully absorbed on my face but does make the skin feel soft and supple. Normally emulsions are used with other skincare products to help them absorb better in the skin and this emulsion does that.

How did it help me?

The emulsion is helpful for damaged skin. The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisturizing Emulsion effectively manages the irritated skin barrier. The product does not contain any mineral oil which causes skin clogging hence you can use it without worrying about clogged pores.

What are Korean Face emulsions?

Even if you are not a beauty enthusiast, you must have heard of the term ’emulsion’, which happens to be a staple product in the Korean skincare routine. Chemically, an emulsion is a mixture of two liquid substances that wouldn’t blend in their nature to form a single product.

What is an emulsion?

It is a light-weight, non-sticky, water-based moisturizer that helps your skin absorb other beauty products. It helps retain hydration levels and prevent moisture loss from the skin surface.

What are the Benefits of emulsions?

Emulsions help to hydrate the skin, no matter what age you are or what your skin type is. It sinks right into the surface of the skin, allowing it to act fast and deliver what it promises.

How is it different from a cream?

An emulsion has the same benefits as a moisturizer except it is lighter in terms of texture and formula. It functions exactly like a moisturizer, which is locking in the hydration and not letting your skin feel parched or dry.

When do you use it?

Its application is not an independent step, but it is an in-between step incorporated between the application of serums and moisturizers. It’s not quite as light and concentrated as a serum and not as heavy as a cream, it goes after serum and (optionally) before your final moisturizer.

Emulsions for each skin type:

1. Oily skin:

Emulsions can be a very good option as your final moisturizing step before applying SPF. As emulsions are lighter, water-based, and more easily absorbed, they make sure that your skin gets the hydration without the weight and sheen of a cream.

2. Combination and acne-prone skin:

Emulsions can be used to target oil, blemishes, and excess sebum. As its lightweight and extremely hydrating to the skin, it soothes dry patches while keeping sebum and acne in check.

3. Normal skin:

The thin, quick-absorbing formula is both soothing and hydrating, making it perfect for year-round use; while it will hydrate in the winter, it’s still lightweight enough not to suffocate your skin throughout the summer. Formulated with hyaluronic acids and ceramides, it also prevents the loss of moisture to keep you hydrated.

4. Sensitive skin:

The emulsions help to keep the skin healthily and nourished without irritating it or penetrating deep into hence avoiding inflammation or redness. The addition of niacinamide can add a reinforcing barrier to protect the skin and make it stronger while antioxidants help in nourishing and clearing sensitive skin.

5. Dry skin:

When you use both emulsion and cream, the emulsion helps to lock in the moisture from the previous steps, and the cream just soaks in the skin and hydrates it further. For more moisture, you can always mix facial oil into your emulsion and your skin gets both water and oil-based moisture.

Just like other treatment products, what emulsion you want to use depends on your specific needs. So if you’re trying to find a lighter moisturizer for humid weather, or another layer of moisture to keep your skin from drying out, emulsions can certainly find a way into your routine.

Pros:

1. Helps in managing skin barrier.
2. Does not contain any paraben, mineral oil, or artificial color.
3. There is a visible difference observed in skin hydration with prolonged use.

4. Available on Nykaa and Amazon

Cons:

1. It is an expensive product.

Faceshop Rice Ceramide Emulsion: Will I Repurchase?

Yes!! This emulsion also contains ceramide which is an important ingredient for restoring the skin barrier and highly recommended. The emulsion is a product that is quite light as compared to the creams and lotions but it is heavier than any serum. At the same time, it is not as concentrated as serum. If you try to describe it then you can describe it like, it is a diluted facial lotion or cream that can be replaced for your moisturizer.

Final Thoughts:

The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisturizing Emulsion is a good product for people having dry skin.
