Legwear for a trendy and fashionable look
Let’s start this post by actually knowing the reason as to why am I wrote this down. My tops outnumber legwear (trousers, pants, denim). I have about a dozen tops paired with one single party trousers! Reason? I really can’t think of any. But I am sure many of you also share the same experience. Maybe that part of styling never interested us or say a budget constraint or perhaps tendency to keep it simple and not go overboard. But don’t we all notice the party wears put up for display and how perfect they are from head to toe. We try recreating them with all minimum essentials we have with us. Experimenting here is not really a task. Having minimum is also okay. But stocking up on similar products? Not really wise. I love denim does not mean I stock up on same 7 types of denim.
Below are some of the staple pieces that we have and can be substituted with a better version or paired in a unique way.
1.) Leggings and Jeggings:
These (th)ings are certainly very comfortable. You can wear them all day long. If I am not in my Winnie the pooh pajamas then I am in one of these vibrant colored (th)ings! In fact, I don’t remember the last time I got myself a “churidar” (pajama pants tapering to a tight fit at calf and ankle) stitched. But if I were to sport a much fancy legwear I would choose one or all of the below:
-
Phulkari leggings:
ColoredMulticoloured thread work on these pants makes it a must have in your ethnic collection. Just team it up with colored Kurtis similar to any of the colors in its delicate work and you have a fusion style ready.
-
Boho prints:
These prints don’t just add color but also an element of your personality.
2.) Ripped jeans with stockings:
Ripped jeans, most criticized for sure. But we cannot ignore this style. Fridays call for this look. Call it cool, hippie or indecent, a pair of ripped denim does manage to add style to the otherwise formal collection of yours. Pair them up with net stockings underneath and notice the difference in your complete outfit
3.) Palazzo pants:
In trend? I don’t care! They are so comfortable. Who does not love to be in PJs all day long, and Palazzo just made staying in PJs trendy. They come in solid colors and Aztec prints and are in the budget. Pair them up with a tee, top, tunic or a kurta. How can one piece scream style, comfort, and versatility together?
4.) Cigarette pants:
These trousers with straight and narrow legs are perfect for a formal or semi-formal look. Ditch the chinos and trousers for cigarette pants. Comfortable legwear and makes your legs look longer. Pair them with a nice button up shirt or blouse.
5.) White legwear:
Now you might be wondering why have I mentioned a color. Well many of us are wary of flaunting this color in a pair of denim, pants or palazzos. But notice the difference it does to you regular wardrobe. Pairing white legwear with neutrals or pastel tops gives you a completely different appearance. Decolourisation is one reason one tends to stay away from this. Go for this color in thick materials like denim or thick cotton. Buy a size bigger than the normal size to avoid the fear of highlighting features you don’t tend to in a tight fitting pant.
