I feel a scrub is the most underrated product in our skincare routine. For some reason very rarely it finds a place in your bathroom cabinet, majorly because of Loofahs or random exfoliation beads in your body shower. I have to have a scrub cleanser for my skin care. Twice a week I use these granules to exfoliate my skin. That being said I hoard scrubs too! Next thing after bath salts and lipsticks, scrubs find not just small space but entire bathroom cabinet reserved for them. I happened to try a number of scrubs by the body shop. I am here with the body shop pink grapefruit body scrub review.
1.The packaging of the body shop pink grapefruit body scrub:
The product comes in standard TBS tub like packaging. The color is peachy pink and it is airtight. It is a see-through packaging from sides.
INR 745 for 200ml
Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Glycerin (Humectant), Silica (Absorbent), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Citrus aurantium amara (Bitter Orange Peel) (Natural Additive), Zea mays (Corn Cob Granules) (Skin/Hair Conditioning Agent), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Mel (Honey (Mel)) (Natural Additive), Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus paradisi (Skin Conditioning Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Benzophenone-4 (Sunscreen), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 14700 (Colour), CI 17200 (Colour).
Firstly, the fragrance is very pleasant and refreshing. Because of grapefruit, it has the right balance between citrusy and floral notes.
Next, I love the color of the packaging as well – a soft peachy pink color!
The product or the scrub has a good consistency without being too runny or creamy. It has gel-like consistency and the size of granules is perfect for a body scrub. It might appear that granules are big or sharp but on application, it is very gentle on skin and leaves no redness or irritation. I usually massage my body with some olive oil, Splash some water and then rub this scrub in circular motions, it acts as a message as well as exfoliation. It can be washed off easily without any stickiness.
The only issue here is the packaging. I do love tub like the packaging but for a scrub, I would prefer tube-like packaging. To avoid putting my wet or already in use hands into the tub again and again and increase its chances of getting contaminated.
It leaves a very soft pleasant smell post bath.
I find the granules gentle but am reluctant to use it on face or other sensitive areas.
Granule size is apt
Texture and consistency is perfect
Exfoliates the skin well
Leaves no irritation or redness
Formula is not sticky
Tub like packaging reduces chances of hygiene
Not affordable when compared to other scrubs available in the market
8.Do I recommend buying the body shop pink grapefruit body scrub?
9.Will I repurchase the body shop pink grapefruit body scrub?
In conclusion I would definitely recommend this product. It has a right mix of fragrance, granules and gel. It does leave a smooth supple cleaner exfoliated skin. Very easy to use.
