Tagetes essential oil is very effective in treating chest congestion, bronchitis, sinusitis, cold, cough, and catarrh. It heals wounds, cuts and treats other skin infections like irritations, boils, eczema. It is also very helpful in protecting from the bacterial infectious disease like cholera, athlete’s foot, septic and food poisoning. It also treats spasmodic cramps, cough, and convulsions. It is very effective skin toner. It also works as an insecticide

 

Tangerine Essential Oil

Tangerine oil is extracted by cold compression of the peel of Citrus reticulata. It is also known as true mandarin. The color of this oil is yellowish orange. It has sweet and citrus like tangy smell. It has a thin consistency.

The tangerine oil has very useful in treating mental problems like stress, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. It also maintains digestion problems. It regulates the blood circulation. It keeps the skin shiny and smooth by maintaining its moisture. It keeps the body hydrated by maintaining the water retention. It also removes stretch marks.

 

Tansy Essential Oil

Tansy oil is extracted by steam distillation of buds, flowers and sometimes leaves of Tanadetum vulgare.  It is also known as scented fern and bachelors’ button. It has very strong, fruity and pungent smell. It has a  medium consistency. The color of this oil is dark blue.

The Tansy essential oil is not recommended for aromatherapy. It is very useful in treating respiratory tract infection like bronchitis, cough, cold, asthma, sinusitis. It has anti viral properties because of the presence of thujone and camphor components. It can kill the virus, rupture the cysts. It balances hormonal disturbances. It is also very useful in reducing skin allergies, irritations.

 

Tarragon Essential Oil

Tarragon oil is extracted by steam distillation of flowering tops and leaves of Atremisia dracunculus.It is also known as estragon and little dragon.The color of this oil is very light and pale yellow. It has a thin consistency. It has very strong spicy and herbal smell.

Tarragon essential oil is very effective in reducing the arthritis pains and other joint pains. It increases the blood circulation. Tea Tree Essential Oil

Thuja Essential Oil

Thuja oil is extracted by steam distillation of twigs and fresh leaves of Thuja occidentalis. It is also known as a swamp, cedar leaf, and American arborvitae. The color of this oil is transparent to pale yellow. It has a sharp, fruity and camphor-like smell.

Thuja Essential oil is not recommended for aromatherapy. It can even cause abortion. Thuja oil is very effective in treating rheumatism, arthritis and other joint pains. Wintergreen oil is recommended for aromatherapy use. It is very toxic even a small amount can be fatal.

Wormwood oil should not be used in aromatherapy as it is very toxic because it contains thujone. Because of its toxic properties, it reduces the bacterial and fungal infection very quickly. Yarrow Essential Oil

Yarrow oil is extracted by steam distillation of dried leaves, buds and flowers of Achillea millefolium. It is also known as milfoil and thousand leaf. The color is dark blue with a thin consistency. It has a  sharp, woody and herbaceous smell.

Yarrow oil is used to maintain proper blood circulation to reduce various disorders like varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Safety Measures

As essential oils are concentrated in nature, they should be used under the strict guidance of experienced aromatherapist.The essential oils should be kept away from the children. These oils are inflammable. Some of the essential oils are  toxic in nature so they should be used with great care and precautions. Direct smell of oil should not be allowed. Essential oils should be avoided during pregnancy or any other sensitivity. Not all essential oils are recommended to use in aromatherapy.
